Snowing in Appalachia, Flooding in Coeburn

Haha, wow! Here in Appalachia it's pouring the snow, and I've also heard reports of flooding in parts of Coeburn due to the large amounts of rain we've had in the previous days.. is this crazy weather or what? And could somebody verify the flooding part?

I'm not sure if Wise County will have school tomorrow, because the flooding is only in a few spots and the snow isn't really amounting to much, but this is some wicked stuff.

I was just about to post about this lol, but yeah, flooding has been an issue for some throughout the area...don't know why there are no statements out (the only ones I"ve seen are for Dickenson and Buchanan so far). The rivers are really high down here too with some overflowing a little. It's also snowing here now, with a little mixing going on.

Speaking of Coeburn, I just heard a report of ice on the road creating a hazard there.

Snow and wind advisories are up throughout the area until Monday.

They've also had some evacuations because the high water over in eastern KY too.

Yeah, this is going to be a widespread problem for sure; it's been raining like crazy all over the place.

I've just heard a few more things about flooding in Riverview.. I've heard there's about 1-2+ feet of water at the carwash, but thankfully it hasn't come close to the bridge yet.

Anyone else know of flooding in Wise Co.? Is it just in Coeburn, or in lots of other places too?

Weather in BSG has been fickle for the past couple of hours. Pour the snow. Pour the rain. Pour the snow, etc. etc. Flooding too.
A visitor told me a few minutes ago there was "a lot" more snow towards KY.

No surprise that E KY is flooding. Driving through there yesterday every creek, river, stream, etc. was running at capacity.

Driving through Corbin/Middlesboro today, there was quite a bit of snow falling and sticking. Same for Jonesville.

i went on river road today in crackers neck, and they had signs up that sign "Road Closed to High Water" so I just said eh, heck with it ... i went through there... and there was a good foot of flowing water across the road...

Guest River is almost touching the road here by the house. Any more rain, and I'll be moving stuff out of the basement.

From the maytown part to the tacoma it is flooding people in tacoma are in boats trying to save there stuff

Flooding warning issued (at 5:30) for the Powell River in Lee and Hancock Counties. The river level as of 4 p.m. was 18 feet, which is flood stage, and expected to rise to 18.5 feet this evening.
